Terms of Reference (ToR) for Consultant Videographer for RWAMREC Documentation Activity


Background

The Rwanda Men Resource Centre (RWAMREC) is a Rwandan non-governmental organization, working to promote gender equality and positive masculinities and engaging men to eliminate all forms of men’s violence against women and children in Rwanda and beyond. RWAMREC seeks to document its ongoing activities and achievements for advocacy and outreach purposes. This documentation will capture the transformative impact of our project on communities in Southern Rwanda, highlighting men's engagement in gender equality and the empowerment of women.


The objective of the Consultancy

The main objective of this consultancy is to produce high-quality audiovisual content that documents the achievements and impact of RWAMREC in the Southern Province of Rwanda. The content will be used for social media campaigns, advocacy, and reporting purposes during key initiatives such as the 16 Days of Activism against GBV.


Key Responsibilities

The consultant will be responsible for: Filming and producing a 5-minute documentary showcasing GEWEP III’s long-term impact. Producing six short videos (90 seconds each) focusing on specific project outcomes for use in social media campaigns. Capturing photographs of project activities, including community meetings, training sessions, and testimonials for use in photo essays and exhibitions. Collecting testimonies from key stakeholders including men, women, youth, religious leaders, and opinion leaders. Collaborating closely with RWAMREC's communication team and field officers to ensure the documentation reflects the project's objectives and messages.


Deliverables

The consultant is expected to deliver the following: 5-minute documentary on RWAMREC’s legacy and impact. Six short videos (90 seconds each) for the social media campaign during the 16 Days of Activism. High-quality photographs for use in photo essays, printed reports, and exhibitions. Raw footage of interviews and key project activities for future use by RWAMREC.


Qualifications and Experience

The ideal consultant should have the following qualifications: Master’s degree in Fine Arts, Media Production, Cinematography, Filmmaking, VFX, or related fields. At least 6 years of videography and photography experience, especially in development or advocacy projects. Strong storytelling and editing skills. Experience with non-profits or gender equality projects, preferably in Rwanda. Ability to collaborate and meet deadlines. Fluent in English and French; Kinyarwanda is a plus.


Timeline and Duration

The consultancy will start on October 14 and the final deliverables are expected by November 25, 2024.


Reporting and Supervision

The consultant will report to RWAMREC’s Communication Officer and work closely with the RWAMREC Project Coordinators and field officers during the documentation activity.
