Comms assistant
Hibiki Kano joined RWAMREC in September 2025 as a Communication Assistant. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from Sophia University in Tokyo, Japan. Before joining RWAMREC, Hibiki gained experience in community development and communication through her work with non-profit and educational organizations.
She served as a student reporter at the International Artists Center, documenting and writing about cultural exchange events in collaboration with embassies in Japan. Hibiki also contributed to advocacy and awareness-raising initiatives, including co-organizing the university-based art installation project “What Were You Wearing?” to challenge stereotypes surrounding sexual violence.
Her academic research explored the inclusion of foreign women’s perspectives in post-disaster reconstruction and urban planning in Kesennuma City, Miyagi Prefecture, using a feminist city framework.
At RWAMREC, Hibiki supports the communication team in amplifying the organization’s message of gender equality and positive masculinity through creative content, storytelling, and community engagement.
