Iyakaremye Laurien

Project Coordinator - NOVAH

Laurien Iyakaremye is a seasoned Project Coordinator with over a decade of experience leading research and development initiatives aimed at improving public health and livelihoods across Rwanda. Currently serving as Project Coordinator for the NOVAH Project, Laurien brings deep expertise in managing large-scale, community-based interventions focused on health, water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH).

Prior to his current role, Laurien coordinated the USAID IGIRE-JYAMBERE program supporting orphans, vulnerable children, and adolescents living with HIV. He also played a key leadership role in the Amazi Yego and Eagle Research Center projects, where he managed field operations for household surveys, environmental health trials, and water quality testing in collaboration with global partners including Emory University and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

Known for his strong coordination, budgeting, and stakeholder engagement skills, Laurien has consistently delivered high-impact programs and reliable data under challenging field conditions. His hands-on experience spans from data collection and team supervision to ethical compliance and donor reporting. Fluent in English and French, he is committed to advancing inclusive, evidence-based development through community engagement and innovative research.
