About the NGO
The Rwanda Men’s Resource Centre (RWAMREC) is a non-governmental organization dedicated to transforming harmful masculinities and promoting gender equality in Rwanda and beyond. Our vision is a peaceful society where women and men share responsibilities in family life and governance through equality and mutual respect. RWAMREC works on a variety of programs that focus on engaging men and boys to prevent gender-based violence, promote gender equality, and encourage healthy, positive masculinities. The Bandebereho Program, meaning "role model" in Kinyarwanda, is a gender-transformative initiative under RWAMREC’s implementation. In partnership with the Rwanda Biomedical Center (RBC) and the Ministry of Health, this program engages men and couples in promoting male involvement in reproductive, maternal, newborn, and child health (RMNCH), caregiving, violence prevention, and healthy couple relationships. The program aims to foster positive masculinities, promote gender equality, and strengthen family dynamics, particularly for parents of children under 5 years and expectant parents.
