About the NGO

The Rwanda Men’s Resource Centre (RWAMREC) is a non-governmental organization committed to transforming harmful masculinities and promoting gender equality in Rwanda and beyond. The organization envisions a peaceful society where women and men share responsibilities in family life and governance, guided by the principles of equality and mutual respect.

Its mission is rooted in advancing gender equality through a combination of awareness creation, advocacy, capacity development, movement building, and service delivery. These efforts aim to challenge patriarchal norms and create lasting social change that benefits individuals, families, and communities.

In collaboration with KNH, RWAMREC is implementing the Self-Help Group Approach (SHGA) in Karongi District. This rights-based approach recognizes poverty as a denial of fundamental human rights and seeks to address it by promoting economic, social, and political empowerment. At the core of SHGA is the creation of People’s Institutions—community structures that foster trust and cooperation, enabling local populations to define and achieve their own development goals. RWAMREC supports this work through community-based training that strengthens local capacity and ownership.

To support the successful delivery of this initiative, RWAMREC is recruiting a District Coordinator. The role will involve overseeing the management, implementation, coordination, and reporting of SHGA activities in Karongi District. The District Coordinator will play a key role in ensuring the program’s smooth operation and its alignment with both RWAMREC’s mission and the broader goals of the partnership with KNH.
