Jean Baptiste Nsengimana

Field coordinator - Bandebereho

Jean Baptiste is currently working as a Field Coordinator for the Bandebereho program in the Burera District of Northern Rwanda. He has been serving RWAMREC for over 10 years, starting in 2013. His journey includes working in the MenCare+ Bandebereho program as a district community trainer in the Nyaruguru District of Southern Rwanda (2013-2015), as a field officer in the Indashyikirwa project based in Burera District (2015-2018), and later transitioning back to the Bandebereho program in its scale-up phase as a field officer based in Musanze District of Northern Rwanda (2019-2022).

Before joining RWAMREC, Jean Baptiste worked for the Rwanda Network of People Living with HIV/AIDS (RRP+) as a district coordinator in Gatsibo District, Eastern Rwanda (2012-2013). From 2007 to 2012, he served the same district as a technical assistant in charge of integrating HIV/AIDS control activities into the health sector. Additionally, he worked at Nemba Hospital as a professional nurse for three years.

Jean Baptiste is a hardworking, enthusiastic, ambitious, and optimistic professional. Among his achievements are the positive transformation of young men, young women, and couples, as well as the creation of safe and capable families free from GBV, governed by equality and respect for all members. He has also contributed to RWAMREC's growth through the development and adaptation of various training manuals and by building the capacity of staff from other organizations in gender equality, gender analysis, and gender mainstreaming.

Jean Baptiste holds a Master of Social Science in Gender and Development from the University of Rwanda and a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from the University of Technology and Arts of Byumba (UTAB). He is also a qualified professional nurse and has completed several professional training programs related to community empowerment. Jean Baptiste is fluent in English and French and is a native speaker of Kinyarwanda.
