Gisele Umutoniwase
Director of Programs
Gisèle is a feminist leader with over 6 years of experience in program management and organizational development in the nonprofit sector. She has worked with various feminist and women’s rights organizations in Rwanda before joining RWAMREC as the Director of Programs.
Gisèle previously held different leadership roles, including Executive Director at Paper Crown Rwanda. Before that, she led Gender-based Violence Programming at Rwanda Women’s Network. She also serves on the board of directors of Generation Rise, a girls' empowerment organization in Rwanda.
Gisèle has a Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, is a certified Project Manager (PMP), and has had extensive training in leadership, business, and strategy through renowned fellowships such as the Mandela Washington Fellowship.
She is passionate about creating innovative solutions to drive social change and empower women and youth across Africa. Gisèle values impactful partnerships, feminist practice, and effective leadership as essential tools for achieving lasting social transformation.
