Alexis Nkingi
Field officer - Bandebereho
Alexis is a Rwandan Gender Activist, passionate about gender equality, girls, and women empowerment. Currently, he is working as a Field Officer at Rwanda Men’s Resource Center (RWAMREC) in the Bandebereho program based in the Burera District of Northern Rwanda. He researched the Role of Men in the Fight against Gender-Based Violence in the Nyabihu district. He did a professional Internship in the Ministry of Gender and Family Promotion specifically in the Gender Equality and Women Economic Empowerment department for eight months. He is a former Operation Manager in Société Industrielle des Matériaux de Construction (SIMACO&AFRIFOAM). He worked for the United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (MONUSCO) as a Child Soldiers Demobilization officer in partnership with joint operation of the Rwanda Defense Force (RDF) and Force Armée de la Répulique Démocratique du Congo (FARDC) called UMOJA WETU. Before that, He has been serving for la Société de Distribution des matériaux de Construction (DIMAC) in Burundi as Assistant to the Director General. Alexis holds a Master’s of Social Sciences in Gender and Development from the University of Rwanda, a Bachelor’s in Journalism and Mass Communication from Mount Kenya University, and a Bachelor’s in Secretariat of Direction from the National University of Burundi.
