About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and creative Communication and Social Media Intern to join our team. The intern will play a crucial role in amplifying our message, engaging our community, and increasing our online presence. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about gender equality, social justice, and digital communication to gain hands-on experience in the non-profit sector.

Requirements

Education:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Communication, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field.

Skills:

  • Strong writing and editing skills.

  • Proficiency in social media platforms and tools.

  • Basic graphic design skills (experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar).

  • Familiarity with social media analytics and reporting.

  • Proficient either in English, French or Kinyarwanda.

Attributes:

  • Passionate about gender equality and social justice.

  • Creative thinker with attention to detail.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.


  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.


Experience:

  • Previous experience in social media management or digital marketing is a plus.

Responsabilities

  • Content Creation: Develop and curate engaging content for our social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.). 

  • Social Media Management: Schedule and publish posts, monitor interactions, and respond to comments and messages. 

  • Campaign Development: Assist in planning and executing social media campaigns to raise awareness about our programs and initiatives. 

  • Graphic Design: Create visually appealing graphics, infographics, and videos to support our digital content.

  • Analytics: Track and analyze social media performance using tools like Google Analytics and social media insights; provide regular reports and recommendations for improvement.

  • Community Engagement: Foster and maintain an online community by engaging with followers, partners, and stakeholders. 

  • Content Writing: Write blog posts, newsletters, press releases, and other communication materials as needed. 

  • Research: Conduct research on trends, best practices, and new tools in digital communication and social media marketing. Event Promotion: Assist in promoting events, webinars, and workshops through social media and other communication channels.
